It’s been a fairly long time since I looked at anything from Indeed Brewing, so what better way to get back into it than with a beer from them that has caught my attention. I give to you Indeed’s Pistachio Cream Ale, a name which needs absolutely no explanation as far as what the ingredients are in the said beer. I had seen this beer making the rounds on Facebook and Instagram and decided that I needed to check this out since I’m a big fan of pistachios in general.

Appearance -  A clear golden color with a high amount of visible carbonation. The head itself is moderate in size and has excellent retention but the lacing itself is on the spottier side.

Aroma – I’m getting some potent biscuit and pistachio notes on the notes, followed by light floral hops and pale malts.

Taste – Well they aren’t playing around then they called it a Pistachio Cream Ale because they absolutely dominate the front of the palate. Behind that I’m getting some pale malt sweetness and potent bready biscuit notes. In the aftertaste, I’m getting more of that biscuit flavor along with some light floral hops.

Indeed took one of my favorite snack foods and incorporated it into their beer and the end result is a love letter to fans of Pistachios and I love it. If you’re looking for a great cream ale with a twist, then I whole heartedly recommend checking this one out!

Indeed Let it Roll Review

Name: Indeed Let it Roll
Style: India Pale Ale

A new offering from Indeed Brewing? Don't mind if I do! Today I've got their Let it Roll IPA which, to my understanding, is their fall seasonal IPA. This past summer they had another IPA by the name of Let it Ride, so this leads me to believe that this is a fall seasonal. As to why it's called Let it Roll, I'm guessing it was simply a matter of convenience. Now all I'm waiting for is the inevitable release of Let it Relax Session IPA (That's a joke.)

Appearance - Very hazy dark amber color with no visible carbonation. The head is nice & foamy with some lacing that is on the spottier side.

Aroma - Rich citrus & mango notes upfront followed by some mildly pungent grapefruitness. I'm also getting some nice toffee & caramel maltiness with just a hint of yeastiness. Needless to say, I love the way this smells!

Taste - Pretty similar to the nose. You've got the rich citra hop and mango sweetness upfront and some grapefruit notes but there is a surprisingly strong bitter (not piney) hoppiness that jumps out of nowhere at the end of the palate along with some light yeastiness. There is also an encompassing toffee maltiness that shows up in the back of the palate and aftertaste, mainly to help balance out the bitter hoppiness.

At first, I wasn't a huge fan of the surprise bitter hoppiness at the end, but as I kept drinking this, it actually grew on me. As far as everything else is concerned, I love this beer. It's nice, rich and quite tasty. If this is truly a fall seasonal, than this could definitely be one of my favorites.

Indeed Midnight Ryder Review

Style: Black IPA
ABV: 6.5%

How have I not reviewed anything from Indeed Brewing yet? They've been around for a couple years not yet I haven't had the decency to take a closer look at any of their offerings. Ironic considering that I've been to their taproom on more than a few occasions. In any case, I have their Midnight Ryder Black Ale.

Now you can't tell from the photo I took above but the label is awesome to say the least. In fact, here is the full label below...

Come on, I beg one of you to tell me that isn't the happiest looking Kodiak Bear you've ever seen!

Appearance - Pours a Pitch black color with a small amount of visible carbonation. The head is quite foamy in appearance and takes on a dark tan color. The lacing is also quite plentiful.

Smell - I'm getting some very sharp piney hop bitterness paired with a strong roasted barley aroma. I'm also picking up on some chocolate malts and a hint of yeastiness. For a black ale, it smells quite hoppy. Then again, it is 80 IBUs.

Taste - The roasted barley and chocolate maltiness take center stage in the flavor. However the sharp piney hoppiness makes itself known by lingering on in the middle and back of the palate. Speaking of which, the aftertaste consists of strong hop bitterness, light caramel sweetness and roasted barley.

In my opinion, it's got the best of both worlds. On one hand, you have a good roasted barley & chocolate maltiness. On the other, you have a nice bitter & piney hoppiness that counteracts the sheer dark characteristics of the beer itself. In other words, I found this to be nicely balanced for what it is and is worthy of your attention.
